It will work with cingular which provides 850 and 1900 Mhz.

The w800i has only 1900 Mhz. Which means the 850 Mhz spectrum which is
commonly used outside of cities is not supported by the SE w800i.

It will work but not with all spectrums cingular is providing.

Where do you live?
Don't you have a local cellphone dealer?

HI yes you can use your sony ericsson W800i mobile with cingular sim only if it is unlocked one .Else if the phone is locked to some other GSM provider then you can't freely use it with any other GSM sim until you unlock it .You can easily unlock your phone using sites like MobileUnlockSolutions.com they are providing unlock code for all mobile models at reliable cost along with free instruction guide about how to input code in your mobile to unlock it .
